11:15 am - Contemporary Worship - The Foundry

Holy Communion is served in all services.

The children will be singing a special song during the 8:30 am service.

The name “Palm Sunday” comes from a story in the Bible in which Jesus entered the city of Jerusalem. Prior to this event, Jesus had taught and performed miracles, gaining a lot of recognition. The people of Jerusalem were super-excited that Jesus was coming to their city to celebrate a big religious festival. In their excitement, the people grabbed palm branches to wave around and threw their cloaks before Jesus on the road.
Palm Sunday marks the last Sunday in Lent and the Sunday before Easter.

  • Maundy Thursday - 04/17

    Worship times:
6:00 pm - Contemporary - in The Foundry.
7:30 pm - En Español - en el Santuario

During the Maundy Thursday Service at DS Methodist Church, we will break bread and share communion together.

Maundy Thursday, also known as Holy Thursday, is the first of the three days of solemn remembrance of the events leading up to and immediately following the crucifixion of Jesus.

The word Maundy comes from the Latin Mandatum, which means commandment. It refers to the commandment Jesus gave His disciples after He washed their feet to “love one another as I have loved you” (John 13:34). This is also the night of the Last Supper of Jesus Christ.

  • Good Friday - 04/18

    Worship times:
6:00 pm - Traditional - in the Sanctuary
7:30 pm - en Español - en el Santuario

No communion will be served during this service.

Good Friday as we call it here in the USA is known as Holy Friday in most countries.

Good Friday focuses on God’s purpose of loving and redeeming the world even in the face of human rejection and cruelty through the cross of our Lord, Jesus Christ. It’s a Holy Day because God was drawing the world to Himself in Christ.

We will leave this service in silence to reflect on the Death of Christ and its meaning in our lives.

Are you looking for a Church to celebrate Easter?

The journey to Easter begins on Ash Wednesday and we pause to reflect on this holy day of repentance.

During Holy Week, we observe Jesus’ final days on Earth, an intense time of joy, betrayal, and mourning.

Easter is the most joyous day for us, Christians. We celebrate Easter as a time of great joy and hope, as we remember the great sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the promise of salvation. Jesus died on the cross to save humanity from sin and then rose from the dead three days later. The resurrection of Jesus is the foundation of the Christian faith and represents the hope of eternal life.

We hope this Q&A will answer any questions you may have. If you are still looking to know more about the meaning of Easter, or about our church, please reach out!
